"300 rise of an Empire"

Directed by Noam Murro and based on Frank Miller’s "Xerxes" graphic novel, this new movie is the sequel of  Zack Snyder “300”.
Murro shows all his abilities in representing on the big screen Miller’s talent thanks to the use of the same visual and graphic style of the novel.

The novelist is already well known by the most of us for being the autor of other great graphic novels as “Sin City” and “300”, that already have their cinematographic versions.

This new chapter of the saga stages the 480AC battle between Xerxes’s Persian Empire and a Greek Cities’ alliance. In this occasion the two fleets fought close to Eubea’s Island, in the south of Greece, for the Greek territory and its people’s freedom. The battlefield is then something innovative for us: sea and navies’ battle are great innovative elements in a movie that, with almost the same theme(freedom and independence vs submission to an Empire), and same visual style, risked to be too repetitive.

The principal characters are Sullivan Stapleton, as the Greek commander: Temistocle; and Eva Green as the ruthless Persian: Artemisia. Lena Headey as the Spartan Queen: Gorgo, Hans Matheson as the Greek Philosopher: Eschilo; and David Wenham and Rodrigo Santoro as Persian King.

Written by: Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad.

Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder e Bernie Goldmann.

April 2013: Budapest
Erasmus trip n.5

In the April 2013, during my Erasmus in the Netherlands, my spanish friends and I decided to go visit Budapest for few days.

The city, divided from the Danube in the 2old parts (Buda and Pest), is known as one of the most beautiful in Europe. Its extensive world heritage sites include the banks of Danube, the Buda Castel Quarter, Heroes Square, and the Millenium Underground, the second oldest in the world.
The most important buildings in the city are the Synagogue (the second largest in the world), and the Parliament.
Other awesome highlights are the 80 geothermal springs. We found really pleasant to spend there some time.
The first night we thought it was perfect to have a party in one of them; even if full of tourist as us, and not really typical, a party there is something that I suggest to do! Even if just to have a great time with your friends and a good story to tell once come back! At the end of our short trip we decided to spend some hours in relax in the biggest ones, close to the heroes square. These last ones, even if not really really cleaned, are so much beautiful that they deserve every cent you have to spent to get in. Thanks to the architecture around you and the sensation you are doing something good for your body you get out relaxed and enthusiastic for the experience.

The city offer to your sight huge spaces to let it fly till the horizon, and is really pleasant to walk around enjoying the city view.
A really big PRO for the city is how much cheap it is. Great and typical food is everywhere really cheap, and even the poorest tourists could try something better than the usual fast food.
4 days looking around, taking pictures and recording videos, eating trough the streets with the sun shining on our faces, laughing and enjoying the hospitality of a great city. 4 of the best days in my life.
